Well done Tahr, with busted wing and all. That hind is missing a back wheel in the second photo.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Bumpity bump....here we are and still doinit lol.
The sixties ages have gone people and yes, some of us older types are........fingers crossed, still here eh.
Now we are in our 70's plus, next one if it gets here = 74yrs.
Slowing up a tad in the climbing department, still puff my arse off when carrying a weight although I tend to find younger critters are the flavour of the day.Whole as in an eater goat, boned out and only the goodies if anything bigger lol. I still walk or should I say hobble at times, don't use a quad or any other means as I hunt (armed tramp) on foot on public ..DOC only, well 98 percent of the time at least.
I try to get out into the scrub at least 2-3 days a wk depending of course on weather although I do favour misty rain best.
It's all about putting meat into the freezer for me and has been for decades.
Anyway guys and girls just thought I'd dribble a tad and see how us old types are hanging in on the hunting scene,,,feel free to throw whatever you wish...yeah it's raining .....again, but it's great, tiz the Coast eh
74 coming up, still get out there regular, given up carrying carcasses 3 years ago after stuffed disc and broken Achilles tendon. Hunted Pureora for last 16 years regular but next month will be the end of travelling there with coming 1080 drop. Lucky to have Fallow and odd red thru the back fence.
Good effort 74,keep going mate. You never know whats around the corner.
Well done gentlemen. I have a mate 78yrs young. His lungs are not what they used to be from asbestos dust. He still comes out (private block) and glasses from the 4x4... and then watches the hunter move in and dispatch the Deer.... He then drives as close to the kill to aid in its recovery. He's a gun with a knife being an ex professional meat hunter.
A great bloke doing what he can with what hes got..... once a hunter always a hunter. The joy in his smile and measured excitement in his voice never gets old...... team up and share the experience....he's taught me soooo much about hunting.....like Slow down
I’m 70. Got my last stag down south during Easter. Luckily we could drive right to him as I’ve had spinal fusion and the back hates heavy loads. Interestingly my hunting mate asked me how I felt after that animal dropped. My response was “nothing”; it was a clean kill and we had plenty of meat. Perhaps I’ve become too clinical.
Moving toward 76. Next trip is planned for October. All local areas are poisoned though so I enjoy experimenting with loads and rifles at the range along with hunting wildfowl. My dog is great company.

Sixty eight now and to my surprise I out walked a much younger man around the hills on Thursday. That says more about how unfit he was than anything else though.

With a belly full of your nectar fuel you were probably jet propelled @Rushy.

I am 64 and still go hunting whenever work and weather allows but agree with Tahrs earlier comments that your fitness doesn't last long , and is a constant battle to keep it up.
There is a term for people that enjoy inflicting pain on themselves LOL but i still enjoy heading off into the Ruahines with a full pack for a walkabout somewhere, but not to worried about actually shooting a deer these days, just enjoy being out in the hills and often using my camera instead of a rifle.
Cheers
