    One from my bucket list

Had the Arapawa on my wishlist for quite a while now and two weeks ago had a chance to cross it out.
Managed to get away for 3 days with friends to a cool spot I haven't been for a couple of years. Two main goal been set for the trip No1 is to put the youngest member of the group on her first animal. No2 The ram. We have been lucky because by the end of the first day we both met our target. Managed to sneak within 13 yards of my ram and put him down on the spot (first time for me with the bow) , than later that evening she got her first goat with a perfect heart shot. Then the others where trying to catch a deer but the wind wasn't in favor of the bow hunter for the rest of the trip. Seen about 25 deer in 3 days some good looking bucks too, so I think have to make some time to go back in May-June.

The ram was uphill from me when shot it, the bolt broke after cutting a rib on the way in. Than the broad head carried on trough the lungs than exiting between two ribs and getting caught by the wool. The rest of the shaft was still in the chest cavity and could pull it out easily. Only later when I was removing the meat found some of the carbon shaft splinters embedded in his spine.

Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

    Good head alright. Well done.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
