Great views from the trig have not been up there since I was in the Papamoa Cub Scouts. Good to hear that you managed to spook one better luck next time. Reminds me of my first fallow hunt in the Tauranga City Council Catchment had a mate in there with me he was crashing loudly through the bush I was following him and next thing I heard was hooves and crashing so I stopped for a damn good look my mate tried to say it was just the wind so I said the wind does not make hoof sounds mate. Gotta get back there as soon as I possibly can if I am still able to source a permit.

Be interesting to see how you go. I pulled a few out of there in the early 80's as a young Te Puke boy. Used to hide my motorbike in the bush between Otawa Lodge and Boro Dam and head up from there.
