Have heard a couple of wild stags roar this week. Had a poke around some public land country on Tuesday and saw 20 odd deer.

All hinds were still in pairs or 3-4's. Young stags not hanging around and only one old stag roaring.

Roared a spiker into less than 15 meters, he came into suss us out.

Cold snap just passed through, will get the deer moving about. Snow on the tops ...

I'm giving hunting a miss this easter, hills will be full...of hunters.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

You must be in a high population area with no pressure - similar to Farms
Stags on my farm in Taumarunui and Reporoa - were going gangbusters by 15th every year
That was the day I put them with the Hinds

Neighbor was up the Muller last week - nothing doing up there then
Where abouts is your farm in Taumarunui haha
