    the pennies dropped!

So I'm sitting watching cartoons with my kids, as usual I'm not really focused on the content, just sitting and spending time with them.

Then for some reason I start watching. Maisy mouse is on, its showing a little mouse, she finds a kitten and makes the kitten her friend...ah so lovely... But hang on, what do cats eat? WTF!!!! It suddenly dawns on me why there's more and more people in our society who grow up in cities with fucked up views on the world. With shit like this on tv, no wonder so many sheltered people become vegetarians or join animal rights groups.

Sheesh I a kid once too, I watched cartoons also...but they were Sylvester & Twetty, or Tom & Jerry...seeing the theme yet. When I was a kid cartoons still respected natures hierarchy.

    Rant over.

That's why people think meat comes from supermarkets, and that, magically, no animal was harmed in its production.
Sometimes I think we need some kind of 'apocalyptic' event, just to weed out those who, in the non PC days, would be referred to as 'idjits'
He nui to ngaromanga, he iti to putanga.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

Hmm, let's see. We had a mouse with super powers with an eye patch, folks with talking dogs that raced cars that crashed but never got hurt, a coyote that regularly was strapped to high explosives - and it didn't affect us. So the cartoons kids watch today do not affect kids either, it's just the old folks going "OMG there's bad stuff on tv"

Give your kids some credit. They'll work it out themselves.
Oh and watch Adventure Time. Wish that was on when I was their age.

The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Watch 'The Regular Show' -the creators of that program must be on pretty strong hallucinogenic drugs...

That's true, kids should be smart enough to work it out by themselves, and the ones that aren't just become vegetarian?
