    Phone found on Jollie River

    Hi all,

Was hunting up the Jollie River and found a phone. If it’s yours or you know whose it is, message me the make/model/screen photo and I will get it back to you!

Pop the sim out, put it in your phone.
Call the provider and often they will have a next of kin to call. Or the contacts maybe on the sim and you can txt someone

This is why it's a good idea to have a pin for your sim as well as your phone.

If it's not flat you can try the emergency contacts if enabled

Well it could be mine..misplaced it back in 65.
Spent the odd two or three days hunting the Jollie back then and yes there were a lot of pesky critters running around.
We were lucky meeting up with these strange dressed guys that day..sure one was named Spock and the other a chap Kirk.
Anyways they were looking us up and down with rather weird looks on their pale faces. This Spock dude handed me this square flatish lookin
thing with a glassy lookin top..and then as quick as they arrived they simply disappeared, strange.
I lost that thing several days later and was told thirty yrs on that it was or could have been a cell phone...true.

Not so easy if it's locked up with a pin/scan or pattern lock.

Still no owner! The SIM doesn’t have any contact info on it, that must be stored on the phone. Redial doesn’t work because it was dead and then we charged it leaving no last call or contacts. No emergency contact info either! Will turn it over to the police and leave it at that.

Aha, I just might know. I believe some Americans went up there, that's why no info stored, short time use phone.

I turned it into the Wanaka Police, we will see what they can turn up. It was quite a nice phone in a waterproof case!

Keep a check on their progress. Wife found a wallet a few years ago. Turned it into the cop shop. Some time later they contacted her to tell her to come and collect it. No one had claimed it after a certain time so it became hers.
