    Pig hunting auckland

Hey team hope all is well. Is their anyone around auckland that pig hunts with dogs that wouldn't mind me tagging along? All my mates are deer/ducks. Pretty keen to give it a crack but no one I know pig hunts. Happy to Pay myway beers/gas ect and be a pack horse.

Hey bud! I live in the South Island but originally from Papakura. I’ve got a few mates in the area that chase pigs with dogs I could possibly hook you up with. Hunua ranges is permanently closed to pig hunting now which is a shame but there are a few places out beachlands and maramarua that access can be achieved by door knocking.

Understand from locals that the Auckland Regional Council has "professional hunters" looking after the Hunua Ranges.

On flow effect of high population and land management. What DoC land there is has restricted/no permits and limited animals which are subject to culls in any event, what Auckland Council land there is has no access/also subject to culls. Hunuas in particular are subject to pretty ruthless ground control hunting. Very little moving up there in terms of goats or pigs these days even if they let anyone back.

Formerly rural areas like Drury are getting towns the size of Napier parachuted in over the coming decades. Less space for animals, too close to town to shoot, farmers selling up etc. etc.

That's life in the big city. Still a lot of public land a short drive away and as ButcherBoy mentioned above still a bit of private land that can be accessed with patience and a good attitude

Try dealing with Auckland hunters with no understanding of rural life, shutting gates, failing to message when they have left the property, can't follow simple rules, the poaching, and you would quickly realize why getting access can be hard.
I live in the "Super City" and manage a block of land, most hunters last 18months before they F#4k me off and I tell them to not come back, but they almost always have some lame excuse.
Its not like there aren't plenty of animals around so try door knocking. Be aware pig hunters are generally hated until they are needed.
