I seem to be in the majority (5-10).
I only hunt public land and only shoot if I need more venison so harvest does not equal the number of animals seen. I never seem to get sick of it as we eat it in so many ways (steak, mince, sausages, bier sticks, jerky, roasts).
I am not looking forward to the day I can no longer get out to get my own.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

One so far this year, tend to be more of a packhorse now.

I'm in the same boat. Should make some clan plans.

That would be a good question also - how many days so far this year have you spent hunting

I got into serious trophy hunting around 2006.
Probably put in 150 days since then on both private and Doc estate, 99% on Doc for 2 animals shot.
Meat deer are a dime a dozen on Doc land here on the coast.
Do what ya want! Ya will anyway.

A young bloke called into my place yesterday for some reloading advice. After a bit of coaxing he went out to his truck and showed me his diary. It makes a mockery of your poll because you need a further column at the end.All taken from D'vagas to the Lake.Truly impressive. What was really funny is that he has scammed access thru a couple of properties but he has to do the bizo for it.Gave me a wink as he told me.I know 1 of the properties.

yeah I've got the Nugent one open at work, was going to read it on Friday but then went to Chch instead

There's no current system for kill returns eh? Is anyone doing rando phone/postal polls of permit holders to get that data or what? Just not gathering data on that land use anymore?
