    True.
But will have to remove between sets of leaving the line out.
Or they will all get wrecked.
So will still need a bit of flagging tape as well.

I'm also trying it so I can be in a remote walk in location and not have to carry in heaps of flour lure .... If this works ?

I wonder how well half a leaf off a cabbage would work?????
you would get enough off single cabbage to do 50 traps easy...its visual and eatable and not too hard to use.might be "work a crack Nigel"

That would be fine if you were a market gardener !
With the price of vegetables this winter I can only afford to eat game meat !

When there is 300acres there too many rat to think about, only doing it for the fur so any by catch is a pain in the arse. Busy catching rats round the house instead.

I found this old thread when looking to buy some Possum Dough. So in the last 2 years what has been your thoughts on glow in the dark lures, reflective cards and general mystical attractants to get possums heads into traps. What is your money best spent on. Thanks

Just get some of Labours campaign boards and cut them into thin strips half inch wide and 12 inches long and staple them at the top of there reach above trap.
Works a treat. Any of that plastic sign board will do tho.

To be honest best bang for your buck is still the age old icing sugar and flour mix with a bit of lure in it. 20kg flour bags are cheap so is bulk icing sugar and $50 worth or lure (cinnamon is nice and strong) will last you a bloody long time.
If you are trapping somewhere damp or in a wet area in the winter then a chew card nailed above the trap can provide both the visual and scent lure and can be reused plenty of times. The possum dough filled chew cards are better than the peanut butter filled ones. Higher chew rat for possums and the rats don't like them as much.

I find aniseed is a good replacement for cinnamon

Hopefully catch some two legged pests with lure like that.

My great plan for catching possums especially in wet weather involved placing these drums in what I thought were likely places hoping possums would camp up in them, the idea is to place boot in hole before lifting lid...the photo shows one that has been in the bush for many years...I never caught a single possum in any of the drums, even rats never took up home in any of them...I have thought since that maybe a mezzanine floor to make it darker would work.

The plan was for live capture for a particular market.
