What is the go with hunting after a 1080 drop? Pureora is where I wanted to spend my time during the roar and have a camping and hunting area worked out from the last roar.

So I assume I would have to skip this roar and find another spot?

I would just go and have a look pre roar just to see what signs around.
at least that way you'll know not to waste the prime time if its a complete bust.

The doc website says Feb 2025. I can’t see them dropping poison on all the happy bikers that will be frolicking in there at that time. But it’s doc so who knows.

Here is the DOC update. 3 specific areas were done yesterday (2 December). Click "expand all" when you open it.

Going to that link now, it says the operation has been completed and doesn't list specific areas.

? If you expand it, it lists the 3 1080 areas, and then on the bottom of the expanded section under "hunting" there is a map of the specific area.

Post 1080 areas will have less Deer but even less hunting pressure. I wouldn't take my dog in though.

Pureora has been hammered with 1080 for ever, still no deer shortage.

the deer bi-kill given they are sowing in summer likely wont be as bad as one might think - if used in winter when deer are hungry yes can be quite a few tipped over - given there will be 5 months until the roar I would go -dogs no - only takes a pin head - although very small chance could be still a possum crawled under a bank and has residue in gut - not worth the risk -

Does 1080 get into a poisoned animals muscle? Or does it kill so quickly as it doesn’t make it passed the gut?
