Only took a couple of weeks to get here. Seems pretty good thus far.

Cost worked out to about $130 nz so not bad value.

I see this Aliexpress store has them on special today for $125, but I also came across this NKTECH one which looks exactly the same for $105. Thinking it might be worth the risk to save a whopping $20?

These SNDWAY range finders are also sold on the WISH site around the same price just for interest sake.

I'm interested to know from people who have had one for a while now how does the rechargeable battery in these hold up? I'm a bit skeptical of rechargeables

The Sndway rangefinders are colour coded:
    Green - 600m rated
    Orange - 1000m rated
    Blue - 1500m rated

I would read that a 1500m version is reliable to 750m as the rating will be for very ideal conditions.

Note Sndways are IP54 rated, that is:
Dust - Protected from limited dust ingress.
Liquids - Protected from water spray from any direction, limited ingress protection.
In other words, should be OK to take out and use in the wind and rain, but carry them covered and don't go swimming.

I've had it read 1030m that was tripod mounted. It takes a while to return a reading at distances past say 800m.
I bought it to range rabbits out to 4 - 500.
Happy with it for the money.
Tested out the speed reading with it today and seems to do that reasonably well on cars in a 50k area.

re range, I tried across a gully with my 1000m SNDWAY onto tussock, scrub & bush and it consistently read in 800-900m range.
Once it got into the 900-1000m it took longer and sometimes failed to return a distance. I call that a very good pass as once the animal is out past 400m its definitely walk closer time for me!

I found one of these in China recently and grabbed it cos I had read this thread, cost me about $90 after a bit dealing. Haven't had a good chance to test it out but seems to range out 500m ok. Need to test it out along side another range finder or a known distance.

Haven't paid duty for anything I've brought from aliexpress. Typcially the customs label shows a value that about 1/3 what I actually paid. Threshold for almost everything used to be about NZ$400 including shipping but $400 no longer applies to everything. Go here for a duty calculator if you're concenred about it
