There's a new edition of Red Deer in NZ out too.

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

Whats the deer population like and other plant life?

Regardless of where they are they will know where the best tucker is

I have also seen them eat the grease off bulldozer/digger pins, have their mouths underwater eating watercress, have seen a red deer eat a blackbird, a jap stag trying to eat a Moro bar wrapper, and reds eat all the flowers off about 15 roses

And they can strip apricot trees of fruit

And I thought they were fishing because their heads were well into the water.

Best protein and sugar content, that’s what they are after. Depending on their environment this could be grass or where available plant leaves or other things. Shelter and food, that’s where you find them.

Hahaha.....aint that the truth, well said. Just joined and looking to learn about NZ, but sounds just about like whitetail and mulies over here. Nothing going to make up for laying eyes on them, and starting to piece it together from there. And then just when it all comes together the buggers change it up and its back to square one. Wouldnt be fun if it was easy!
