I was in the northern Pureoras on the weekend. Had a lot of rain on Friday night and Saturday morning was drizzly and windy. The stags were dead quiet, hunkering down and trying to keep dry no doubt. Then the weather packed in about lunch time before easing up a bit late afternoon, but still no roaring. More heavy rain and wind overnight but thankfully the wind buggered off by Sunday morning, resulting in a very clagged in and drizzly start to the day. Went for a lazy morning hunt and ended up roaring in and taking a young 10 pointer. Someone less ruthless may have left him to grow, but I’m out of salami..

Has anyone been chasing Sika? Specifically Clements. Any roaring action? Crazy busy in there?
