SOMETIMES I QUESTION MY SANITY......OCCASIONALLY IT ANSWERS BACK .!
Can’t be fagged reading this whole thread, will later.
But the stags seem to be roaring earlier this year where there has been a good summer and there is a bit of feed about.

I hope you're wrong @BRADS as I have my next leave booked in a fortnight.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
I should of said central ruahines James as the roar is a very area specific thing But who knows I'm wrong about most things.
They sure are going for now.

South Western Tararuas, Waiotauru / Kapakapanui to be specific, ideal conditions these last two days, and absolutely nothing. Add this to what the others have posted and it looks like for the Tararuas at least it is the regular timing. As mentioned at the start, given that each area is often different I didn't want to draw any conclusions from what I had seen at Kumeti. Predict my usual roar spot will be kicking off next weekend.
I'm trying really hard to ignore this thread and not think about hunting as I'm away working and am not sure when I'll be back onshore but even Facebook is against me now with things like this popping up on my newsfeed...
