Really enjoyed it. Lots of tension then relief and jubilation when job done.

Just an observation that there’s less chat about any duck or bird episodes. People who are bird hunt no doubt love those episodes but seems there’s less general interest. I'm sure while you’re doing it its exciting and awesome fun with mates however for TV the scenery doesn’t change, the stalk part isn’t as exciting, etc. Is there a way to make bird hunting more exciting to watch?

I think it was Andre doing all the "punching". Hard yards in the Kawekas for a couple of meat animals but great message to convey about responsible animal management and health of eco system - animal & forest. The sika stag footage must be bloody hard work for camera man, hats off to Dave. And very challenging with 3 guys when in that close, its no wonder its taken a few attempts to get Sika stag footage.

Not a fan of the bird episodes, but not a duck hunter. However I worry about how some of the footage and images will come across to non outdoors city dwellers & how their view or perceptions of hunting/hunters will be shaped. I can see the likes of PETA, twig n tweet and other anti's using these images to reinforce their arguments.

yeah I agree with Chainsaw the image of little duckys getting blasted out of sky likely not go down well in some quarters

Cheers for feedback guys. Typing one handed after shoulder reconstruction so will be brief. Birds - yeah, tricky one. They seem to rate highly though, so although not everyone's cup of tea, a lot of people tune in for them. Variety critical I agree - hence Chukkar, Quail, Pheasant, Canada Geese included alond with Ducks in past couple of bird based hunts. Otherwise too one dimensional.

Will tell Dre to knock the 'punching up' lingo on the head. Very hard recording audio in those scenarios, going from quietest possible situation to loud as hell - roaring and rifles. Will try and do better next year!

I never even noticed the "punching" lingo, despite expecting it to drive me up the wall after reading about it on here before watching the episode.

Another excellent episode. The gripes mentioned above are insignificant. The relief and satisfaction on Marty's bearded face when he pulled off that tricky 400m shot was worth the admission price. And Dre's sheer joy at downing that Sika stag was priceless too. Well done again.
PS. I watch the bird episodes because everything else on tv is crap.

Great show again, like the bird ones too even though I don't hunt birds. I watch this as the only program that the tv gets switched on for.

FFS, if you don't like gamebird hunting don't watch it, simple. There are probably a fair few people out there who would like to see more shows like this.It was a good watch, showed that they could miss easy birds just like anyone else, also showed some good shooting and showed what a good work ethic Spaniels have. They can be a bastard to keep in at times when they're so keen. Overall another good show.Just to clarify, I'm a gamebird hunter as well as game animal hunter. Only missed 3? sesons in last 46 years.

Be nice to see some pointers hunting quail or chukar but very difficult to make good tv out of it.
That young fella did quite well managing a light 20ga shotgun although it seemed they handicaped him with 3 inch magnum loads.......................ouch. Would have booted more than a 12g

Don’t sweat the small stuff, it’s an excellent series!

The ‘punch up/on’ thing is a non event and I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if it hadn’t been mentioned by someone else first.

And the duck/geese hunt? Bring it on, awesome aerial footage and shooting action.
