I remember those for sale in Barwicks Gisborne in sixties - I wonder where they all ended up ( apart from the Jacinda mincer )

.410 slug load...the very best are a 1/8th oz load doing 1600fps 1/8th oz I believe is something between 80-90 gns so its like a .243 at 300-400 yards..getting marginal........ shot placement is criticle..... now its childsplay to make that same 3" or even 2 1/2" into a 00 buckshot load which has slightly heavier payload and a little more room for error with 3-5 balls in it. bail loads are great at bail ranges 5-10 yards..not so good a bit further out or if pig suddenly turns on your dogs and you have to try and stop it in a hurry from less than ideal angle.

That SxS shottie for 150 bucks on the buy sell page would be fine.
If you get super keen find some open sights for it and try out slugs

I had the missus make me a slim pouch with long strap to go over my shoulder, then as it was winter hunting I'd chuck the parka over the top and voila no see um. Even the guys that I would be hunting with on the trip never caught on unless I told them.
There was nothing legal about that little fella. Firing a solid did open up the webbing in the hollow of your palm. @#$%&*

I think Kea guns were banned after a guy at Te Whetu mill held the Police at bay using a Kea gun firing .303 ammo.
