Very nice reading, as already been a around here, a good placed neck shot is the way to go and a decent bullet/projectile choice.

I would still get away after the first volley of 10 shots unscathed I reckon.
No fault of yours of course, it will be that barking tomato stake, you mistake as a rifle and insist on carrying😂

Toby, big_foot and mohawk like this.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Fuk, my woman would disown me if i did that to an animal....no amount of 'but it didnt suffer darling' would suffice.......i'll just have to carry on shooting in the shoulder and using my knife /follow up shots to dispatch it......

LOL! I did show to my lady and she was not impressed at all, even telling her the same "tale" "it didn't suffered darling"
Well, let's keep the good work and try to dismiss the game as quick we can, does not matter where we shoot it.

30/30 projectiles loaded in the 308 used to do better than that when we had a few stinkys too cull. Gotta love a " Bang Flop " .

My last three deer have all been neck shot.....but that's only because the opportunity for each was ideal..... I will shoot shoulder and engine room if I have no other choice..... I like the neck because it leaves so much meat to take home.... But I also know what my limits are....if you have a long shot go engine room.... So much safer......my 7mm rem mag doesn't take prisoners.... Have only once had to follow up shoot a deer. HOT BARRELS
