Skinning and boning out a deer in the field

Hey guys. Interested to hear or see any different videos on how you guys do it. This video below sums up exactly how I do mine.

If one is going to bone out in the field, get a decent knife...and one that is sharp. That knife in the video would be a good camp knife as it wont cut the bread when buttering it. The hand movements looked like a sabre saw at full noise.

Craigc video but this is how i do it in the wilds of the public areana (and also on private land where some walking is involved

As you can see by the front shoulder it is stuffed. And before you ask we did take eye fillet, just out of shot

+1 for Hamish and Craig (that's how I do it) leaving some fur coat on keeps the bulk of the meat clean.

I just do this on both sides (if it's been hit through solders). Takes about 3-4 minutes all up for both sides, all bone free.

I then hang or lay out the meat to cool before putting it in my pack.

Kimjon. Thats a bit different to anything I've seen before. Obviously you just leave whats left on the hind bone legs. Do you gut the deer as well and extract the tenderloins? Sometimes I just leave them but other times I'll make the effort if its a good sized animal.

It all depends where the bullet hits, how far back in the bush I am...and how full the freezer is at the time

But it's a quick and nasty way to get the major cuts of meat without skinning or gutting in a matter off minutes.

Me I just gut the deer and chuck it up on top of my shoulders and walk, mind you I can see the day coming and soon, when this practice will be downsized.

As hntmad and craigc do but depending on how far to carry as to weather I skin and bone out the wheels.

I started doing mine like this. Slow on the first one but getting the hang of it now, a long narrow boning blade makes things easier.
