Thread: Smell in deer skull?

Have boiled the shit out of these skulls, given them a power hose and left them to bask in some peroxide from the hairdresser after that didn’t work well enough and still have a faint smell. Any tips? Cheers

have a good look up inside nasal cavity still some residue up there ?? buy some cheap paint brushes used for art and get some peroxide up into there

Baking soda is good for killing smell, tip the skull up and shake a heap down into the nasal cavity and brain cavity, leave for a week and then knock the skull with the palm of your hand to free up te baking soda, shake it out and should be good to go

Cheers guys. Will give the baking soda a go tomorrow and have another look up the nasal cavity. Thought I had everything from in there but potentially missed something.

You can pop the ear canal bones out too which gives more access to brain cavity - doesn't really change the appearance of the skull at all.

After that I leave it to really dry - in the sun with some air moving over it.

Yep, get rid of the ear buds and make sure you have all the cartilage out of nasal cavities. That guy linked by HarryMax is definitely worth watching
