Some Red stag pics from last week.

The following pics will be testament to my lack of photography skills but most were taken in low light or thru a spotting scope with no flash adapter thingy.
Not an excuse but the results are not the greatest and could be better if I had a clue.

These are some of the bigger stags we seen but they lacked the goods, although having 12 points or more and over 40" in length. They were left for next year or the year after or even for some other hunter that hopefully has an eye for quality.
I have also seemed to have lost a lot of pics I know I took on my shitty camera.

The above stag was a beaut but lacked a Bez tine and may grow one next year.

    This fella was shot.

I have not shot anything as good as some of the animals we seen but I changed my goals a few years ago and I think if they don't get killed in an upcoming poison drop or helicopter shot I will eventually get one there, that will acheive them.😆

Is it attitude or lack of knowledge? I know mine would be lack of knowledge, although I'm slowly learning off you lot. I see a few photos from you lot and think fuck that's big only to read the description saying how it's small or lacking such n such.

    Good question.
In my case it was a bit of both.
I used to like getting as many venison checks as possible, and if it were viable I guess I would still hunt for coin now but with just a bit more hesitation when shooting spikers and stags.

I started hunting with a bloke 10 yrs ago that taught me a lot. He has shot plenty of deer in his time but has 7 stags off public land over the last 10 yrs that go over 300 DS
I used to think he was just jammy until I started to ask questions and tried to soak up as much info off him as possible.
I also hunt with one of my best mates who is a reputable fair chase hunting guide that has also filled my thick skull with his wisdom and ways.

There really does come a time when you have killed enough animals and it is no longer about having to get one to feel successful or satisfied with an outing.
I was told the same thing by an old culler years ago and I thought he was just soft😆
To be honest I would be happy if I could take a half decent photo😆
