    South Hinds track walk

    Hey all

Picked the South Hinds track to go for a scout today. A 2.5k walk-in before you even start. Took me about 40 minutes just to get in, then I took a harder route to the left to get high and have a glass about.

Totally barron so after an hour I headed back out again. I suppose it was good for a trial run and certainly blew the cobwebs off.

There was heaps of pig sign around last time I was up there but didn't see any animals on that side only over the top on the far side.

Looks like good country to hold animals but from your pics I'd say you were there at the wrong time of day.

I dont want to be a smart arse but its always going to be pretty fluky to find animals out in full daylight at this time of year, the fawns are well grown (so hinds not out for additional feed) and the yearlings starting to get pretty educated.

    Cheers

    Nice photos.
I've been to that block twice around the easter boundary area. Not much fresh signs.

My folks farm has the north Hinds running through it, just above where you have been
There are deer about but they are very transient. Can see them about sometimes and then not again for weeks.
Very open country and they seem to move through the area quickly
