Thread: South Island Ballot Blocks

Thought just occurred to me that with the restrictions on overseas travel now in place, there must be a number of ballot blocks in Fiordland, Wanaka, Greenstone and Caples, Haast, and the Tahr blocks that were allocated to overseas hunters.
Must be some vacancies for any Kiwi hunters now, I would have thought.

Nope not unless your on the wait lists. Already enquired about this. I'm on wait list for first period of otago blocks. They also need to be notified by the attendees they aren't coming.

man I would be self isolating in the hills......not hard to proove where you are and not hard to avoid others...... but very cleaver thinking young man.

its the self isolation on the way back and flights not even being available soon

Any aussies with a tahr block pm me , would love to take one off your hands now the borders closed?

might be a case of "watch this space"...........anyone who has block not going to be used,or mates from overseas not able to make it....this as good of place of any to ask for extra bodies to make up party numbers

Or a haast block. Heck even a wapiti block possibly?

The Fiordland wapiti foundation have already posted a facebook notice asking foreign hunters to reconsider coming over to hunt because self isolation procedures will make it practically impossible for it to happen this year. They cannot attend the breifing and places transport operators at risk.

At 11.59pm our boarders are being shut so unless they are kiwi,s coming back home to hunt there shit out of luck .
