Thread: Southland winter hunt

Gday guys.

Anyone keen to do a couple nights in Fiordland this winter? Will probably be a bit of a hike involved. I have some cool looking places I want to check out. Plenty of deer around as well. Was a bit lonely going in by myself last time and I wouldn’t be able to carry much meat out alone.

No need to be super fit as we will go at a pace comfortable for whoever comes. Looking to have a party of 2-4 people. No set dates as of yet as will need to watch the weather.

I’ll pop a photo up of the type of surrounds you can expect.

Could be keen just pretty busy untill the end of the month, you wanna go other side of the lake?

I was going to have a look around a road that goes into Fiordland. I went in there after we went over the lake. Heaps of deer but takes a bit of effort. There are easier spots on the way in worth a look though

Borland road?

I'm interested. Always keen to see new places down that way.

Looking around mid July at the moment. Will be freezing cold with only 8-9 hours of daylight per day
