    Yeah maybe but given that I've only be hunting for around 2yrs and not confident with finding locations etc I'm sure this would all east point me in 1/2 decent locations, right?

    It will give you an idea, I got one as an Xmas prezzie a while back. Sadly if its in the book it will be shot out by now.

    @BLABLANZ certainly decent books and good for someone starting out to get some ideas, I've never used them myself but can see the benefits of such a book yes. Once you have sorted out an area and found sign etc, start mapping out your own spots away from where the general population go.

    Too true... had a 'nice open tussocky looking face' turn out to be 5m high manuka scrub once.

    Yeah Central NI Erua Forrest, Rolling bush with toi toi meadows lol. I'll hopefully get more time to check out the Kaimai's next year.

    We found out what swamp grass looked like when our landy bogged down to the axles trying to short cut between the bombing range and the lagoon up south head one time.
