Im guessing it was big bodied animal??????

there was another "line " of fallow from another country, brought here for farming as they had much bigger body weights, antlers are different to whats normal, less palmation.... @Moa Hunter will/should know what Im on about.

I believe that ours were originally from English parks - but since then bloodlines from who knows where have arrived - certainly Hungary and Sweden are mentioned in advertising in fallow sales - be interested in what Moa Hunter says - I sort of recall hearing of a turkish sub species bought in with a different antler structure but dont quote me

It is the 'Mesopotamian' Fallow that are the big units. Swedish, Danish and Hungarian have the biggest antlers and palms but our English Park derived Blue Mountain herd are the prettiest

I didn't shoot them. But was there and experienced the hunt and saw them go down. Awesome trip.

Yes i did. I ate heaps of it. Very nice.
Rutting Caribou on the other hand, horrible. Two bites, second one just to verify, and the Whisky Jacks got the rest.

Haha - yes, gotta watch where you put any meat outside. For a small bird those Whiskey Jacks can eat heaps.

As certified dirty meat hunter. Left = yum fat deer with 1"+ fat on rump. Right = no fat and my food has been rutting... and it tastes like it. Not a great photo but left antler on the right skull is heavily split palmed.
