My best and only Sika stag for 2024 so far shot last Sunday. Shot at a distance of 10m with Brno 243 and Remington 100 grain.
Still trying to find that ellusive 8 pointer.

Bella and an average one just recently. He still had that musky rutting smell.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

Had a cracker year so far, a really nice fellow buck and a pretty decent red. Both shot at 500y with the same gun in the same gulley 3 weeks apart. Funny how that happens, right place right time for these ones thats for sure
What a bugger he broke one!
Branch stag, old 9 points![]()

Hi all
I have posted this pic on the forum before, however I thought I had shot a young up and coming sika when I get him aged from his jaw it turns out he is 10.3 years old. Don't feel so bad now. He was single calling every 5 mins for a couple of hours and was camped a few meters into the manuka. I go close, about 10m and gave a single call followed by a mew and he came in fast, looked at me over some scrub and got an extra nostril from the trebly. The other stag pictured I got last year a few hundred meters away, interesting head with the trey tines turned down rather the normal upwards turn, he was aged at 9.3 years.![]()
Here is this years stag![]()
Do you think the downward points are an age thing or something in the breeding?
