    Not quite south island quality but a nice Wairarapa 9ptr from Sunday, also in vry good condition

    A friend of mine got this 14 a couple of weeks ago. Someone had put what looks like a .223 ish size bullet through the antler in the royals on the left side. Wasn't any of you guys out there? Mid Canterbury region.

    Young fella wanted a trip up the Rakaia for his 11th birthday. 31 January, bit early but stripped nicely. Shot 10 min before last light and back to camp about midnight.

    interesting..that front country stag is laying on vegetation that is almost identicle to hunterhills wallaby country..grass down lower than bowling green and foxgloves with odd bit of tussock...thankfully no sculptured gorse to be seen in your photo..I HATE GORSE almost as much as wasps.

    As long as you can run faster that the wasps they should be no problem, lol
