No one else hunting? Stags were going crazy last weekend…
Cleaned him up, scores 314
Interesting comparing the skull of the two above, the big one is heavily fused, the smaller one still obviously stitched which I understand means skull is still growing.

Jeez thats a good looking stag
i was in North Canterbury same day and heard nothing til after dark, heaps going on then.. i was keen as to get back but have pulled a muscle or something lol. that'll teach me for not getting out more often
I was out in North Canterbury on Thursday a week ago with my son and we spent quite a bit of time watching quite a big stag feeding with a spiker.
I’m certainly no expert but would have thought if they were close to roaring then these two would not be standing together feeding.
It takes around 3 hours to walk out of this area, which we did after dark, and didn’t hear a murmur on the way out - but did see two hinds and a yearling feeding on the side of the road within a couple of minutes of getting back in the car.
Well the one above was from north Canterbury area and they were going nuts all day. Reasonable density of hinds and stags however
not a murmur was heard today close to here...
75/15/10 black powder matters
Still a bit early for the Sika, a few hee-haws but that's it. The handlebar 6pt did however come charging in to a single call from 700m away. All cull stags, I suspect the 8 is going backwards as he's got a bit of age. Left a promising 8ptr probably 4yo and 160ish DS.
