    Tahr cull doc betrayal

    https://www.pressreader.com/new-zeal...81857234275624

This was printed in todays odt.
Exactly why Eugenie Sage should never have become minister of conservation. A one sided conservationist extremist that is unwilling to liase and conduct management of Tahr in a reasonable and objective manner.
This type of action has undone any of the good relations the recreational hunter, Nzda, Game animal council and hunting guides association has had with Doc and will create very negative attitudes to an organisation that is funded by our own tax payer funds.

The blatant lies regarding the tahr population and breaches of the Himalayan Tahr plan is disgusting.

These are areas of high importance to recreational hunting.

Save our Tahr. They belong in the southern alps.

Yup. Friggen deluded freaks that will shit on anyone and everyone for their pointless ideals.

Spend shitloads of tax payer money on destroying a potential resource that could bring shitloads of money into the country if they only used half a brain.

But @R93, to use half a brain, you must first HAVE half a brain, and Sage and its fellow "Greens" wouldn't be ble to muster that between them all, blinkered fools they are. They're about as aware and relevant as a broken brick.

yup but ive said it before. DOC is full of the same like minded people. They will push their agenda to whoever comes in and as they should be the experts, they will probably be listened to. With Sage there I bet she just tells them to put whatever they have in front of here and it will happen.
DOC needs a cleanout as well.

There was a job vacancy for a Ranger in Twizel with "tahr management experience" posted on the DOC web site a few weeks ago !

I just checked and cannot find it under current vacancies.

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

Probably already been said but head of the Godley and head of the Dobson is in the National Park. This cull is not going outside the boundrys this year at least. I expect Doc is now reverting back to its annual culls that were policy before Doc ran out of funds for their annual cull about 5 -7 years back and stopped, while putting all their money on the AATH agreement to shoot 5 nannies for every bull taken, and also on recreational hunters bluster they could control them. We havnt, we failed, Doc has been given more funds to get them under controll again. They will.

    End of story.

Cos I’m real sure I’ve seen lots of hunters saying they could control tahr numbers without any other methods.
You a mouthpiece for DOC now HC?
A good start would be DOC publishing animal density maps so hunters know where to bomb hard. Why not?
Or ring the office and find out the tahr guy isn’t in this week so no info.
If hunters aren’t kept in the loop their contribution is minimised, I’d suggest that’s on purpose.
