    Just read through this. bottom line until we change the law our game animals are always going to be classed as pests.

    I see on todays news DoC has just transferred several thousand more hectares into Kahurangi National Park. Thid of coursr will now include any introduced animals birds fish and plants within the National Parks extermination policy. Cunning ay.

    Any news on the Tahr Cull?

    Is there any shooting (culling) taking place?

    We rapidly approaching the Rut so be nice to know if, when and where its been happening.

    Am actually planning a trip down South to have a go so hopefully we run into a few.

    Thar are no longer an offical pest species, the supplementary paper on the arms act lists pest species wallaby, rabbits, hares and canada geese. Goats are not mentioned.

    Good spotting @Marty Henry - Neither are deer. Yeahah !! I hope Mz Sage, twig&tweet & DOC have all read this new legislation and act accordingly.

    I bet they will still be seen as pests for poisoning just not allowed to shoot them ...

    Don't get excited, the current legislation being introduced does not over-ride the Wild Animal Control Act 1977.
