Gidday @Cam7mm08 unfortunately this forum doesn’t work like that. (Ref to your first post like the second )
You need to introduce yourself then add something to the forum.
Your not quite asking for spot X but some here might take offence.
First time Thar hunting and I would leave the dog at home, no use both of you getting in the poo first time out.
As for snow? Weather forecast long term. And talk to the pilots/company a week before you go.

Yea what @Sideshow said. I'm just being cnuty. I doubt you would be able to take a dog into those areas anyway, but I'm usually wrong regularly.

Don't take your dog into that Southern alpine country until you have seen it for yourself, and then walked around it in bare feet.........

Mate , I've only done a couple Hunts with Tahr seen and from what I've found any spot is fairly likely to have a few tahr about in them , majority that ive seen where right up in the rocky tops but seemed to be a group every coupla bumps along the ridge!
I recently found out that the tops and ridges onto the tops can be friggen steep and fairly full on with a heavy pack , i didnt make it far past the bushline-
later seen tahr on the other side of the 'gulley' but i wouldnt of made it that far to do much about it, id needed to plan my route up better initially which was fairly different to what i'd looked at on the maps an such... real hard to know without actually standing on it.
