    Thar ballot blocks

    Hey all.
So we're thinking of putting in for the ballots for landsborough-Adams area for next year.
Is it worth while or are we just as good going somewhere else? A mate went over to the coast in the spring for some tahr and is dead nuts to go back over there.
Just starting to do some research on which blocks
    Cheers

There are as many thar outside the blocks as in them. The Coast has the bigger and heavier bulls. The eastern side is easier to find animals and hunt imo but they seem to be higher.
The blocks at the northern and southern end of the zone are the best in my opinion and experience.

Had Baker Creek on the Landsborough about 10 years ago, fantastic week, good mates, spectacular scenery, the tahr we got were a bonus frankly. Heard everyone checking in on the mountain radio each nite, most parties were on to animals. Awesome area, need to be prepared for anything though, we took crampons and ice axes, used the crampons a couple times, left the axes in camp after the first day.

As Dave says above, west coast bulls are bigger, I think their coat is darker and more impressive. Any any case, they're an awesome animal, big engine room.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.

Hmm, looking at the Hunter Diaries Edison only had just over one tahr sighting per hunter day.

Ok, I hear what you are saying Dave.

Rob was saying they saw a heap of tahr when they walked in, in places they weren't expecting them. For example in the creek around the next corner and then the next
