I think Nz done the right thing locking down(Should have been only the original 4 weeks)but don't care about the virus anymore, there is no chance we will slide back into level 4 once lifted.the people won't take it the economy certainly won't take it, it is what it is now and the economy/countrys life trumps deaths from the virus from now on.
Ps Seabiscuit deserves no credit for a successful lockdown she couldn't make a big call to save her self she is merely a mouth piece pretending to be calling the shots!and this line"going hard and going early"that she keeps spouting is horse shit!

He makes a good point about reporting of deaths attributed to Covid-19 in Illinois. His comments on PCR as a diagnostic test are pure bullshit.

Sorry, but I find the question/s posed at start of this thread self serving. There will be a whole spectrum of views and emotions given where we are at and given the NZ govt response to the dual risks of Covid19 and economic meltdown. To say that views stated here are "narrow" given the nature of this forum, ie frequented by hunters, fisho's, shooters & outdoors types , ignores the obvious ...... that folks here come from very diverse backgrounds and experiences. Farmers, trades people, business people, self employed, probably even some health professionals , and may more.

Am I still worried ? Yes, but much more so about the future of our economy, jobs and way of life than I am about the risks of Covid19.
The NZ govt decision to go into 4 weeks of lockdown was warranted.
But they could and should have done more earlier than they did - testing capacity, PPE, border controls etc. But lets not dwell on the past - it is what it is and we're now entering 5th week of level 4 lockdown, with 2 or 3 or? weeks more of "Level 4 with KFC" ahead.
What concerns me most about crisis and the way its being managed is the arrogance of the govt in refusing to be transparent & refusing to accept there maybe a better way.
Just have to look (& learn) from the Aussie's how a different approach can have same or better health outcomes ..... and lessen the massive impact on jobs and economy. Our "Level 4 with KFC" is simply not warranted or justified based on science and facts. They have used fear & selective information to coerce the general population into acceptance.

Lack of transparency - why has the govt failed to provide modelling of the economic fall out, loss of jobs, tax increases, unemployment, etc etc. What about the deaths and bad health consequences of having our public & priviate health systems on hold for 5 weeks.
The govt talks incessantly about modelling of deaths due to covid but nothing else.

Lack of transparency - read this.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/a...ectid=12327290

We all need to be very worried ...... about our govt.

So here we are, in yet another 'Left v Right' (or other way around) Covid-19 thread.......

on the right (boo, hiss) we have ALL the perfect 20/20 hindsight torchburners with their views that 'Stalinder, horseface. jackbootinder' (delete or add depending on your shoe sized)

should have done this or that depending on THEIR view, unlike the PM who had the whole country to think about....

"ARR shit we cant go hunting, boat fishing, blah, blah......fukn blah"...guess what? trampers, mountaineers, scuba divers, kayakers ect fukn ect cant do their thing too....

on the day of New Zealands Level 4 shutdown (March 26th) took place, 712 people died in Italy (over 8,000 deaths including over 40 doctors), 655 people died in Spain (over 4,000 deaths)

would YOU as PM have had the balls to say 'go for it' to the whole country and all its people in there various pursuits, whatever their political allegiance???.....well

Yes.inch by inch people are becoming so useless they need the govt to tell them what to do and in turn treated like children, who the fuck needs to be told how to wash your hands?(wash both sides with soap and then dry both sides, this was one of their Covid messages on tv.)We as a Nation need to all grow up and the govt needs to get out of our lives except for essential infrastructure and policing.Although I'm pissed I can't go for a hunt for me this is about the govt controlling the masses in a way any dictator would be proud of.
Make INFORMED decisions by people educated on the topic treat us like adults give us the responsibility adults deserve and police the shit out of the scum! This labour govt are a bunch of misfits and academics with no real world problem solving skills.I reckon we all need to be extremely concerned about who has the reins of this country especially over the next few years trying to rebuild some economic power and also keeping ALL of our liberty!

And I bet I'm not the only one that has to download tracking apps to their fone in the name of health and safety in order to work on a building site.
We build concrete house floor slabs,2 or 3 on a site at a time usually metres apart.
Don't see them easing off on the tracking once the chinaflu debacle quietens down.
that's part of the joy of 5g isn't it?

I doubt very much if those polls were done the results would be publicised as much
Im not so sure, I think she will be riding this wave for quite some time.

Especially if she gets behind this.

"Chief Kiwibank economist Jarrod Kerr told Morning Report that a cash injection of $1500 per adult and $500 per child would help to get the economy moving again."

I bet she is already counting the extra votes it will get her.

Chill. Relax. Be calm. Spread some love. All things pass.
For now, so how safe do you think we will be when the flood gates are opened again?

Remember, this lockdown isnt designed to eliminate the virus, it is designed to slow the transmission rate down to a rate where it is manageable in the hospitals.

oh fuck wouldn’t that be great. I would buy this and send the PM, Deputy PM, Minister of Police et al a photo and a thank you note. I would probably send a copy to Cahill just for shits and giggles.
