EDIT Yes it was. And I need to say that while mine was miles better there was a reasonable price difference too, and his Pard was certainly good enough for the requirements. But as an example, across in heavy scrub he could see a couple of deer as he walked up a clear ridge, while I watched him wind another 5 he never saw (this was daytime, 6pm. Cool and overcast).
If apples with apples at the same price then that is a fair comparison.
I broke my pard night stalker when it came of my bike.
Sent to whangarei, a week later fixed with no invoice.
I also run the ta32-25 handheld and at the price point I really rate it.
The new leopards are another step up again.
Fraser is also great to deal with and puts alot of video up done in nz with tips and how tools.
    I rate them

No it wasn't apples with apples. But with this tech stuff you get what you pay for and the best is stunningly effective. You know and do that with NF Andy,

    Thats correct Bruce.
The first question I ask is budget and once I know that I look at bang for buck with reliability and servicing for the loot they have.
I also stick with brands that have a long history in nz and if possible a no fault warranty eg leupy and bushnell for analog optics.
I got asked to organise some binos for my new to hunting neice.
I sorted a pair of bushy 10x42 Dx engage and couldn't believe how good they were for $400.
Tech is moving that quick with electro optics it is hard to know when to jump in and buy.
It's a good time to be buying this sort of tech as so competitively priced and almost at the point of to much choice in brands which isn't a problem until support disappears.
    Any way my 2 cents

I'm going to get a sytong xs03-25 for Bush stalking. Might help convert more spooked animals into meat for the freezer.

Here's my son that night with his dog gutting a deer. 300 yds in misty rain. About midnight. Sytong XS06 50.

And here at top left is a deer sneaking off through the scrub that Craig couldn't see with his little pard. This was about 6pm. Well before dark. Pic taken at about 350 yds.

Yes, I don't think he has them in stock.
They are a size bigger than the smaller 25/30 ones.

Yes special order. We anre ordering stock at least once a month, so wait time no longer than 3-4 weeks.

I don't know anything about the Nocpix, but own a number of the Pard NV and thermal products, and a Sytong clip on NV unit.
I think you would be perfectly happy with either a Pard or Sytong, my TA32-25 has taken all sorts of abuse over nearly 3 years and hasn't missed a beat.
Having LRF is a very good idea and the 388/480 pixel units will do pretty much everything you want, as long as you get a base magnification that suits your needs ( too much mag in close bush is unhelpful and not enough for work in open tops is not great either).
However, you'd be unlikely to regret the benefits of a 640 either if your budget stretches that far. If you do get bitten by the 640 bug, the Pard Leopard 640 LRF is seriously good value at the moment at $3100.

There’s some interesting developments incoming in thermal monoculars. Will be getting hands on in a couple of weeks at Shot Show.
