Thread: Trips planned for when this is all over.....

Head into a back Country hut in the Southern Alps with my Wife and little Daugher.

as soon as sea biscuit lifts level 4 I'm going deep into the Ruahines and Tararuas for a bush stalking fest.

Go thru my back fence with me, dog and gun. Instead of me and dog.

By May it will be like shooting ducks on the water, if all have played the game.

Stuff the ducks. I am going after the deer as my freezer will be empty by the end of the lock down.

A few odd ones I want to tick off the list.
Turkeys nest bivy.
Bull Paddock Creek bivy.
Nardoo hut.
All require a good amount of leg work and some time to spare but we will see what happens. Not the sort of places I fancy carrying meat out of but there may be a stag or chamois lurking around.

If this ends on the 22nd few reds will still be roaring , fallow should be good , failing that Tahr in june somewhere tame on the East coast possibly the godley and chammy iv always wanted to go for a chammy hunt over the coast maybe a fly in walk out , need to work on the fitness !!.

Probably galatea if the weather is cold.

Or Lake tarawera as I've never been before.

I have a feeling that we'll have a back log of work and then nothing much for a long time.

So I may get away for more than a weekend

My first crack at Sika, so Kaimanawas.
Potentially some private land back of Hicks Bay area.

A sika trip with the wife' nephew around May if all's well, and chasing Reds in our normal patch on weekends.

Places that are on my hit list are places I have never been before, but have always wanted too.

Some with some great history some just out of interest.

1. Whites Clearing
2. Rogers Hut
3. Skips Hut
4. Totara Hut
5. Whirinaki Loop.

Lets just hope this covid-19 is over before winter.! So whats on your hit list.?

Also any advice of places to try in Ureweras,Minginui, Ruatahuna etc would be appreciated, PM me if you wish.

Hunted down from Whites clearing 50 plus years ago, seldom had to go below Te Totara.

Canterbury high country to look for a stag and/or chamois for a weekend.

Might take a week off to head into Doubtful Sound, we were planning to be in there right now.

I had a few wallows in the Kaimais lined up, but i feel like every jaffa and their dog will be in there as soon as its game on.

We gonna go set up camp for a week in the Pureora North Block after this mess blows over, the freezers will be low!

Mate and I going to Central Otago hunting for a week!
