Sorry to hear that mate nothing worse than people being in you place.

If you dont have cctv or cams definitely worth it. And if you cant spare the change just put up cctv signs.

I use tapo cameras at the moment as they are east to use and wifi etc for pretty cheap

i have recently returned to the security industry, the crime rate is staggering. ram raids galore and its normally 10-14 year olds doing it.

they did the local service station and attempted the bottle shop next door. 2 shopping malls in the last week and vape shops are the prime target.

Can you put up a link to these cameras? We've been looking at it but needed to sort out something functional with our internet coverage being just out of town, unable to get fibre/VDSL/ADSL/Dial up and cell coverage is just garbage as well so Rural 4G broadband was slower than dial up... Meant we couldn't use any of the internet-enabled security cams and the like! We've just sorted out Starlink and worked through the nasty-cheap hardware issues that ships with so with the first problem solved we can look further at the camera setups. Topical considering the OP's event I think - but may be worth starting in another thread????

Took me several years before being able to stop worrying about the home when going away after being burgled. So feel your pain.
I did end up wondering whether I should have called the victim support number given by the police because I really struggled to let it go. Might be useful for the kids to have someone to talk to about it?
    All the best.

Sorry to hear this mate. I've been there several times, back in South Africa before we moved here. It's a shit feeling, and I believe the feeling of your safe space being violated is way worse than the loss of your stuff.

What really did my head in was being told to be extra vigilant after our stuff was replaced by our insurer, as they could decide to come back for round two and have a go at taking the new stuff. It's been 15 years and a new country, and I'm still extra vigilant!

I have hidden airtag inside the stock of all my rifles. They are set to send alert to my phone if they leave the house without me....
