Big railway bridge or a little one?
The general road bridges have been good for a while but the arahura and taramakau were both narrow things. The taramakau has bridge is still there but a big brand new road bridge has been put up.

I don't think I know anymore than anyone else sorry.

I need to get to Whataroa for a hunt.
Heard that people have got as far as Franz from Hokitika even tho Road is closed. I will be towing a boat so will wait for the all clear.

I know the big slip just north of the Whataroa bridge that had the road closed a week or so ago is not affected. It is still open.

Rain has eased down there according to people I have spoken with.

I will try and post any info as I come by it. Just packing gear now to head down when it is viable.

I don't see why he won't be unless weather conditions prevent it.

Dont worry all semi automatic rain making machines have been banned, a givealittle page has been set up to buy a new bridge and the PM has donned a souwester and heading to the coast for a praying session. No wait its your own fault for living on the west coast, Hope you guys are all ok despite the weather.

Some pics from my place of the Hoki River with the drone at 100ft or so. I will take some pics of the river at a normal level at a later date from same spot.

Would you know how long the travel time would be coming from Christchurch to Wanaka/Haast?
