Gday folks,
So i have a fair bit of interest in the Olden Days of the Otago era with all the storys and photos of the 20s-30s an i spose 40s , where the Wanaka balloted area especially Makarora was the ducks nutz of the Big Heads........
There is alot of Country locked up with the Wanaka Ballot period, Some Hut books ive read in the area have mentioned a Lack of Game/ Lack of Roars etc..... with many opting to leave their block early.... cant say this is for all, just what ive seen so far.
There is obviously a fair amount of peolpe who get to Hunt these areas in the Prime ROAR period...... yet i seldom see much in the way of story or picture of any big ol heads?
Does anyone have success in there these days in terms of high 30 inch Stags with thick Timber?
or has (poisoning?) and WARO taken a toll in there, especially trophy potential?
would love to hear more about this, even a cheeky picture?
iconic valleys like wilkins, jumboland, fish, wills, blue, etc...
sounds like its tough going in there these days? an lower numbers of course but hows the trophy potential?
Thanks very much for any discussion that arises.....
