    Rather than an old one from 2019...
    I suspect you will have more luck

    Just out of interest, what does it roughly cost, if one was lucky enough to get a ballot, travel included from the north island, block fees etc.
    I'm going to put in for a ballot block in a couple of years

    Depends, blocks over the Coast side require helicopter access, (email Fiordland Helicopters for a price) the ones on the Lake side are accessible by boat so are cheaper to get to.

    @ocean-hunter a basic hunting trip down south for four guys ferry + helicopter including food for 7days is about $1200 each. (not a wapiti block)
    Depending on how far you go south and helicopter price.
    Gives you a idea where to start.

    My uncle got Mt Tanilba. He never bothers getting what's considered a Wap area. He just likes getting a block most years, Shot some cracker stags though.
