Gibo, if you got a decent Bushnell it would have rainguard on the lenses. Then you could save your tissues for your arse

    Do you now?

You will find that any cloth or item used to wipe a scope lens could effect the finish, its what is on the lens that does most of the damage.

I would think that obvious, its the tissue construction it's self (even if perfectly clean) that can do damage.

How and where is your evidence? How long are we talking? 20 years?

I took my rifle for a walk at okataina after rain, kept finding bits of tissue on the ground.
I thought someone must of gone hunting with a cold. Now I know better lol.
I take a microfiber cloth with me, Mobil were giving them away not long ago.

There is a line of thought that when people have an opinion as to politics/thoughts etc that when presented with facts/figures that oppose their original mind set instead of listening/accepting and changing their own view point they further intrench themselves in their original position.

It would be best for you to do your own research

That's a very lazy way of thinking. If you're making an assertion, it is up to you to provide the evidence that backs it up. Telling people to "do their own research" is effectively saying "I can't be bothered supporting my argument".

Moreover, people "doing their own research" are far more likely to seek out information that agrees with their biases.

That's a very good point, could you show me some that says toilet paper is a better choice than microfiber cloths? As any quality optics I've bought came with the latter, not a roll of TP.

Looks a bit hori and you get a bit of crap from your mates about the tacticoolness of your shooter. Until it starts raining, then they get pissed off because you can see through your scope and they are dicking around with their fancy flip ups which trap condensation.

Thats what I thought before I got the Leupold caps and now I love them and it's a good reason to stick with Leupold scopes.
