    Weekend Adventures

Hi Team just thought I would have a wee report over the last 3 weekends ,once again I have been a very lucky man.
So 3 weeks ago me & my buddy mac where off in search of some veni all morning hunts so up at 3.30 !! we got to the farmers gate & young stag bolted across the track into some pines so we carried way on up the hill until we reached the native & parked up we hadn't walked to far until we spotted a stag on the move around 400 Meters away but he was in a hurry so no time for a shot we carried on up the hill further & spotted 2 more stags quietly feeding below a high point we got to within 230 of them watching them browsing & mooching along decided to take the lesser beast ,without elaborating to much I figured out my mate was indeed human & a few shots latter the stag hit the deck .

Mac looking for a little creedmoor hole

Last week I made some drunken plans with my cuz & seen as how it involved kids & xmas trees & yabs thought we had best sort it so we met at my place at 8 the next morning few coffees latter we where on our way to a place I hadn't fished in years it was good fun watching the kids go from being a little standoffish to into it , pluss iv developed my technique when it comes to kids catching them .

And this weekend which happens to be my B day , looking at my profile I must have lied some reason I automatically knock a year or 2 off my age...but whos counting anyway another early start meeting mr mac at 4.15 sharp we where off into the hills hitting the farm track we hadn't gone to far & a deer jumps across the headlights ( im convinced its always the same one ) still entertaining though watching mac in a kafuffle , after winding our way to the top I got out & checked the wind & planned where we would go into an area I hadn't been to since the roar ,wind at our backs for the first couple of k,s before heading north along the main range I spotted a hind in the open country they never like to hang about up there always in a hurry moving through she soon disappeared over the top , we carried on looking into the scrub line a few hundred meters across the gully another hind was spotted & seen as how it was my shot I was reluctant to take it on account she mite have a fawn in the scrub so after a while we turned into the wind & quitley stalked through semi scrub land 20 mins latter mac pipes up look down there I can see a deer turned out to be 2 hinds , mulling the situation over I looked directly across from us to spot what in initially thought to be a fawn bedded down but quickly figered out it was exactly the animal we where after a yearling hind 178 away so after some fancy pants shooting the day before on some paper I decided to line up on its neck & show mac how its done , yea it never works aye so luckly the deer only ran 30 meters before stoping for a look back aiming at a bigger bit , wallop flop ...that's better

kinda of made sense he likes the 6.5 pluss he already had all the loading gear ,loads & this one like his ruger is about as accurate as you can get 0 recoil though the entry holes look as though the deer has been stabbed with a sharp pencil lol..i like a bit more thump ,weather has been great bloody hot but we have had 2 really good rains now so green grass ,plenty of fat lambs & deer around the district

I feel your pain ,currently drip feeding a rather large acc bill .Yea still all go , haven't done any planning as yet but with further distance to travel this time il get a few more on board to keep costs down so after the silly season has passed mite start getting a little more organised .
