Yep 308 hard to beat for 95% of nz hunting, and you have the same action length so no muscle memory problems short stroking a long action.
If you got the same rifle you would even have a spare mag for both.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.

308Win One chambering to rule them all.

In this neighbourhood it's .270s or 7mm08s for deer guns. Just depends what 'side' you want to be on ;-)

That's for every species (including big roaring red stags) from 10yards to 600yards.

just to be different 300 win mag, shot my dads the other day and loved it, you can reload or buy factory ammo, excellent up close and your still able to reach out further without changing firearms. if you want to try before you buy we can jack up a gong smashing with a wide range of cals and see which you prefer. but seriously the 243 will see you right from day one here.

stick with what you have got and know, 243 is a great caliber, most animals in the north island are shot well within a 243s range, south island? could be different

I didn't necessarily mean forum people - all the lads in my hunting circle. Have you not met 7mmsaum? I think he has 8 7mm08s.....

A straight man could not admit to such a crime
Your hunting circle must be a bit "different"
