Never heard of OSM before this thread, got some of the 1/4 bars for a snack on my weekly walk with Dougie and Jet today...
Pretty good, bit too much sugar for my liking, but decent energy food in a handy size
If you guys aren't too manly to bake, seriously make your own stuff! The oaty/nutty trainsmash cookies I have made are a good low GI option, no (refined) sugar in them, loads of energy packed goodies and still taste yum.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Tx Rushy, yup, had the cranberry one, will try the apricot next.
And yes Dougie, I'll eat the "trainsmash" oat and honey biscuits again, they were good.
this is how we use to eat at nights. Spent too much time cooking, cleaning and drinking instead of been out on the ridge track at last light. One year I put on weight Now we just have premade casseroles with Maggi mash spud and bread
apricot osm is my favorite

There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!
A food dehydrator is great. Do your favourite casserole, double bag and freeze ready for your next trip. Works with spag bol sauce, fruit, fruit leathers, ... etc. Buy stuff in bulk when cheap and freeze as it doesn't dry as much as freeze dry, but can generally be eaten "as is" if desired.

depends on how far and how long. at one stage it was salami and bread for breakfast lunch and tea lol. usually take dehydrated meals. muesli with milk powder mixed in. milk powder is quite high in protein so aids recovery of muscles as well. on a long trip with big days I take some supplements to help out. glutamine is a good one (helps prevent muscle break down, just add to water) it's a popular supplement for endurance athletes.
