    Was taught back splices and eye splices many moons ago at lineman's school. Never forgotten.
    Another interesting one we were taught was the monkeys fist.

    Never toss a hemp rope monkeys fist into water ( if you want to undo it one day).

    Its a really nice knot and you dont have to be Albert Einstein to build it either.
