Years ago in Singapore a girl I know needed stitches and the doc used sterilised dead ants from a jar - they had huge lockjaws that worked on contact even though they were dead. Doc lined up the two sides of the wound, picked up the ants by the body, touched the head to the wound and after the jaws locked on he twisted the body off, leaving just the head.
The advantage is that after 3 days or so the patient can cut the locked heads off themselves without having to go back to the doctor - need a good pair of sidecutter pliers though
If I were you I'd be proud of my sewing skills too - I heard of a guy recently surfing that had a shark bite him and sewed up his own leg using a pigdog repair kit and this guy really takes the cake - farkin Russians..
That self-appendectomy
Haha taking out ya own appendix!
But most of all, I've personally sewn two mates up that got injured, one in the Motu and the other up the Godley valley in the South Island. Both badly ripped. The doctor at the last hospital left the stitches there and my mate still shows them off as a badge of pride![/QUOTE]
