I think your Fallow has damaged his antlers somehow , the red stag I shot had a purse and bulls but had only small bumps that could be felt under his skin on his skull. He was in fantastic condition and a struggle to get out too the ute. He didn't hold any hinds or roar and wasn't all pizzled up.

Wasn't in the Swale catchment in Bluff was it? Was one in there for a good few years, and also a melanistic hind as well.
