    I just rip the tops off some grass, hold it up, and drop it. Seems to work fine, readily accessible in the places I hunt, and the price is right.
    Might not have the sensitivity of some of the other methods tho.

    Like the carpenters chalk @mallard833 how's the snow over your side of the ditch. We got a good dusting today but nothing on your polar vortex thingy you guys are getting.

    We've got about 16" of snow and it is currently -11F

    Bic lighter.....Sived ash in a puffer container....all commonly known methods.

    But has anyone gone hunting with someone who uses a e-cigarettes that put out a huge vapour cloud

    Iv always used a lighter, seen some one use a bit of fishing line taped to there barrel and it looked like it worked ok but never tried it my self
