Well guys, our hunt in block #1 last weekend was fun, but the weather turned from good to fair to ratshit by 2pm. We saw 21 deer in total but only one of those a buck with palmated antlers and running way too fast to count his points or shoot. We think he had three spikers with him and tracked them for over two hours, eventually losing them in the mossy ground deep in manuka scrub. A mate shot a fat doe early in the morning, so we had a feed of DamaDama steak. A bit disappointing for neither of us other two in the block not to have an opportunity at a buck, but then again, bloody lucky to have scored a block in our first ballot application on our doorstep in the big smoke. Thumbs up to WFMC
Laying eyes on 21 is fairly good H4L. Shame about the buck running off

We had block 3 today, saw plenty and my young companion had a doe ticket and shot one early this afternoon with a good old Husqvarna .308 and Loopy 3-9. His first deer so we were pretty chuffed for him.
10MRT shooters do it 60 times, in two directions and at two speeds.
