Shot at a hare once. Hit a 2.5 mm steel wire instead……

Ive broke a few fence wire with the 17 hmr and had a few zaps through the trigger of hot wires, that gives you a bit more energy for the rest of the day. Ive also had dry grass destroy the projectile just after its left the barrel, took a while to figure why the rabbit wasnt dying

Took my 14y/o daughter out a few weeks later for a hunt…
She got em. First stag, she was totally stoked. Calm as, lined it it with my rifle at 425y and down it went. She’s been pretty focussed on getting a stag for the last couple years and it paid off. And it was a heavy timber brute. Skull and antlers weighed more than any I’ve ever shot. Few busted times from fighting but she wasn’t after pretty, she was after success… now she wants to hang it on her wall. I’ll add a pick with mine from my roar hunt on the left and hers on the right

So the moral of the story was I’m now super stoked that I missed the stag and it lived 2 more weeks to get taken down by my girl. Just finished making a few kegs of Jerky from the hind quarters. Yummy snacks and better for the kids than sugar filled museli bars
