Cats are awesome hunters,they hunt even when not hungry just like us.
that's why they should all be registered,chipped, and contained on the property just like dogs.

And cut so they can't breed

If contained to property they wouldn't breed un intentionally .
If my dog got out and killed 10 sheep I would expect it to be shot by the sheep owner, If next doors cat has killed 10 of the tui I am farming on my property( or just shits on my doorstep )I should be within my rights to shoot it but something tells me I would be in the shit for protecting a native species.

Aint no cats in our yard, only a bear (Chester bear, cat scare'er extraordinaire )

My grand papa and uncle were/are well known and long time pig hunters. Ive been out 4 times hunting pigs ( although never with them ) and have been there twice when shit has gone down. Its one hell of a rush. It is very brutal I guess, but end of the day its food for the family and a sport so to speak.
I like the idea of pig hunting, but I'm a city hunter and have no room for dogs, or enough time to keep them out there doing it. This is why I like to chase deer around in the bush when I get the chance.

Im a fan of both.

I think there is a lot of skill involved in properly training a dog for any type of hunting, also a lot of balls to knife a big boar! As long as the pig is dispatched or released quick I have no issue but I do hate seeing a pig being shredded by 4 dogs while people piss about and talk like on some hunting shows. It takes a lot of effort to run around the bush and get to the pig to give it a respectfully quick end.

Not my cup of tea. Used to go out quite a bit as a grommit as my best mates old boy was well keen on his wild pork. Saw some pretty brutal stuff including a dog getting damn near cut in half. Rough stuff to see as an 8 year old.
Not nearly as upsetting as the time we butchered my favorite hand reared pig though

Our cat goes hunting with the boys Aly. One night he followed them over a km.

I'm purposely staying out of this. But totally agree with moonhunt. opp's looks like I'm in. Unless one has trained his own dogs to hunt, they will never know the true joy, pride, comradeship and yes sometimes sorrow, that can be associated with Pig hunting with dogs. Beats Deer stalking miles over, To run a good pack of dogs takes a huge commitment in Time and Finance. Sadly I no longer have those two main ingredients, so can only pursue pigs with friends who have dogs. Still a Deer stalker I'm sad to say. Mind you I still have one Handy dog who does both.

From the point of view as a pest controller you cant beat a good pack of dogs. Pigs can be pests when numbers get up or when large old boars and the odd sow too becomes a lamb killer.

And can you ever beat the thrill of the heart busting charge through the bush when the first dog opens up on a bail.

I don't think you can.
